Why Do People Copy Others?

Big lips✔ Coke bottle figure✔ Long hair✔ Eyelashes that make my eyes look like a spider✔ Light skin with a hint of tan✔ Big breasts✔ Ass that mimics that of Nikki Minaj.....impossible, that girl is an alien.

So many females have taken their bodies and changed it in into something unnatural and trendy instead of embracing beauty that is authentic and unique.

I don't really understand the reason for doing this. Yes I do have my own set of insecurties: my skin is prone to breakouts, my knuckles are fat (those of you who only wear rings on one finger know what I'm talking about), and my ass... let's just say it's more like Kelly's than Beyoncé's.

We all have features that are far from perfect, but since when was being a duplicate of another the goal?

It is natural for us to yearn to be part of a group. We are drawn to likness. That's how we determine friends, companions, political parties, amongst many other things, but it's through our differences where our true identity is formed.

People often copy others in hopes to have what they have. But just like the old saying goes,

Everything ain't for everybody"

It is your own style and personality that will grab the attention of others. People are in awe of those who can shamelessly brings forth who they are.

When going after your dreams it's so easy to look to those you admire and mimic their every move. They are the blueprint, they are the idols. As long as you follow their lead you don't have to risk being different and you don't have to find your own way.

But it doesn't work that way. We are not meant to replicate anyone else. Someone else's greatness is revealed to inspire you to find your own. We fear that what we have to offer may not be good enough, worthy of acceptance or admiration, or worse--- will be ignored.

Doing great things and living a great life will always come with great risks to our ego. The true test is doing it anyway.

The one thing that people from all walks of life relate to is

realness....

authenticity...

truth.

When you put aside your fears of not being liked or accepted, and embrace who you are and what you have to offer, you are bound to get back that exact authenticity from others.

Remind yourself,  ain't nobody built like you, you designed yourself " Jay-Z

Whatever is different about the way you look, the way you sound, or the way you persue you goals, own it. It is your key to discovery. Common ones are nice, but it's the uncommon who are unforgettable. Feel Free, Mel

One Sure Way to Build the Confidence You Need to Act on What You Want

I've always been tight with my money. I'm a frugal person and not ashamed to admit it. I save, save, and save some more. Not for anything inparticular, more like a rainy day fund. But one day I was reading this post from one of my favorite blogs and it dawned on me that I get nervous to spend money on myself? Why is that? It's my money. I've earned it. Who else should it be spent on?

I've always been tight with my money. I'm a frugal person and not ashamed to admit it. I save, save, and save some more. Not for anything inparticular, more like a rainy day fund. But one day I was reading this post from one of my favorite blogs and it dawned on me that I get nervous to spend money on myself? Why is that? It's my money. I've earned it. Who else should it be spent on?

When it comes to my needs: bills, food, toiletries, shoes, I never think twice. Although, when it comes to things that may not be a necessity, but could be beneficial towards my goals, I hesitate.

Investing in yourself and your business is crucial to your success. Doing otherwise will stunt your growth, delay progress, and give you one more excuse to why you are here⬇ instead of there➡. We spend a lot of money on things that never pay for itself, but clutters our physical and mental space instead.

What if the money you had after paying for your needs (bills, food, shoes) you spent it on pursuing your goals? What if you bought a book, purchased an online course, attended a seminar, or hired a coach?

How would your goals be affected? That book would fuel you with knowledge. That course would provide you with tools and tactics. That seminar would ignite inspiration to push further. That coach would keep you on track and never allow you to waiver. You would be surprised by how much faster and easier your goals come into fruition.

I decided to do the same some time ago. I vowed to stop skimping on the things that mattered a lot to me (specifically my business). I spent the money and did not hesitate. It's funny how quickly things began to evolve. I gained access to information and opportunities that were unexpected. Speaking engagements started coming my way, clients were interested in hiring me, and I started to apply myself like never before.

Taking something as tangible as money and putting it towards something intangible, like dreams and goals, provokes confidence. I could see the vision in my head become more of a reality in my life.

Simply put, I put my money where my mouth is.

When you're presented with an opportunity to purchase something that would feed your dreams, and you hesitate instead of jump, subconsciously you are asking yourself one thing:

Can I really get a better job? Can I run my own business? Can I really do this?

Here's the thing, you can and you will, but only when you act will you find out. In order for others to invest in your talents you must be willing to do it first.

The vision in your mind is worth the money in your pocket. It's worth an opportunity to become reality and it cannot live off faith alone. Turn your dream into a need. Invest in yourself and never hesitate because what you have no one else can give.

Mel

Why you shouldn't get mad about time lost

TimeIt’s 6:30 a.m and I overslept. My son is supposed to be fed and out the door by this time. I also should have pumped by now. I haven’t been up for one whole minute and my day is already an hour behind. So what do I do next, I push everything that should have already been done to the next hour. I make it to work but don’t have my wallet and the parking lot only takes credit cards when all I have is cash. Luckily, I find another parking lot but now I’m officially late for work. Thank goodness I don’t have to clock in or out so my money isn’t affected but my schedule is pushed back even more. I catch up with coworkers and shuffle through my email backlog that will never become up-to-date. It’s now 10 a.m and I haven’t done an ounce of work or pumped an ounce of milk. At this point I’m feeling thrown off my game, irresponsible for oversleeping, anxious because I know how much work is on my desk but I need 30 minutes to pump. (If you know nothing about breastfeeding here’s your lesson for the day. The more you feed or pump, the more you produce. The less you feed or pump, the less you produce. It’s a supply and demand thing.) So as I new mom whos baby is solely living off breastmilk to survive, it’s essential that I don’t slack on this task.

There are many tasks throughout our day that are important that we don’t slack on. Whether it’s within our job, our family, or personal life, it’s important to not drop the ball on things that must get done.

But sometimes the ball gets dropped. You oversleep, forget, underestimate it’s priority level, or forget your wallet. What do you do then? I can tell you what many of us do. We go on complaining the entire day of how bad it started out and how much it’s thrown off. There’s lack of energy and enthusiasm in everything moving forward because this day is terrible and completely out of whack. A fresh start is in order and since that can’t happen until tomorrow, you throw away the rest of the day waiting on a new one.

When things don’t go as planned or are less than what we anticipated it is easy to throw the baby out with the bath water. Meaning, it is easy to get rid of something precious (like time) just because it’s tainted.

When it comes to growing a business, starting a relationship, building a friendship, or pursuing goals there will be things that come up that make the situation look less desirable.

A successful business isn’t perfect because it’s successful, it’s perfect because through all the adversity it still found success.

The love shared between two people isn’t perfect because they are perfect, it is perfect because through both of their imperfections they still find love.

Never get caught up in how things should be that you ignore how things actually are and lose sight of what it could be.

When things are not going as planned and feel off course, instead of standing still, veer back on your bumpy road and ride it out, push through until you reach the other side.

The path isn’t perfect because there are no hiccups, it’s perfect because it didn’t stop you.
